Top Drawer SS18 - Our Highlights

We always enjoying visiting Top Drawer for its quality and curation. It’s great to get the year off to a flying start by seeing over 600 brands in the spacious London Olympia.

Below are some of our highlights:

Stelton

We always look forward to seeing new Spring / Summer designs from Scandinavian design brand Stelton (presented by Treacle George). The Emma range (designed by HolmbäckNordentoft) has been newly released in a delicate terracotta and soft nude - blending easily with the existing Emma colours. We also loved seeing the new sculptural Hoop vase designed by Danish Unit 10 Design. Hoop comes in 3 sizes and is designed to make flower arranging easy due to its narrow foot and wide lip.

Niwaki
Niwaki (which means Garden Tree in Japanese) is a brand which specialises in ‘Great stuff from Japan’. We love Niwaki’s well-made offerings, especially the beautifully designed garden accessories and  secateurs. These practical tools formed part of a stunning wall display on their stand at Top Drawer.

ERADU Ceramics
We were introduced to ERADU Ceramics through our client Design-Nation. Eva Radulova (the designer behind ERADU Ceramics) uses bone China and porcelain to create her clean and classic tableware. Eva typically uses grey hues, but her new colour palette (which launched at Top Drawer) introduces elements of Blue and Teal.

Keeler and Sideaway
The Spotted area at Top Drawer is a dedicated space for up-and-coming brands exhibiting at a trade show for the first time. One new brand which stood out for us was Keeler and Sideaway

Last year we saw a resurgence of Miami colour palettes across many design sectors. What impressed us about Keeler and Sideaways stationery and print collection was the sleek presentation and quality design.

Cult Vinegar Product Shoot Oct 17_013.jpg

Cult Vinegar
We met Cult Vinegar founder Jonathan Brown in the Spotted area at Top Drawer. The brand caught our eye straight away for its design-led aesthetic and clean, simple packaging.

The brand sells small batch live vinegars in a variety of flavours such as Champagne, Ruby Port and Sauvignon Blanc. We don’t usually review food and drink, but Jonathan invited us to have a taste test. We were initially sceptical, but each vinegar was distinct and really did taste of each distinctive alcohol. Perhaps vinegar pairing is the next big thing?

Mini Moderns
Top Drawer was an opportunity for Mini Moderns to present their largest UK trade showcase to date - including wallpaper, home accessories, home fragrance and Kitchenware. The design duo Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire also recently collaborated with Portico designs on a fabulously chic Home Office Collection.

Also debuting at Top Drawer was a range of cushions with designs from the most popular prints from the Saturday Night / Sunday Morning wallpaper collection.

Yod + Co
The newest addition to Yod + Co’s lineup of design-led brands is DESIGNBITE. This young Taiwanese homeware and lifestyle brand formed under the design direction of multi-award winning Scandinavian design studio Hans Thyge & Co. We especially enjoyed their sleek wall-mounted storage solutions.
