SCP Launch their Spring|Summer 2022 Window Exhibition Series

This month, SCP have launched their Spring | Summer 2022 window exhibition series, starting with a new collection from Greater Manchester based sculptor Vic Wright.

Based in the North West of England, Wright works from her studio in Greater Manchester. Her work takes the form of casts, created using a base of sustainable casting cement, which is added to with different materials such as metal powders and pigments. The drying process results in a range of textures, colours and surfaces appearing, making each piece unique. The casts are arranged in abstract compositions that are both expressive and somehow elemental.

Wright has an explorative approach to her work and looks to capture differences between contrasting elements, while creating a visual language between materials. Her work evokes the natural world, yet moulded and distorted into a new context. Wright uses industrial materials to achieve both delicate and tactile finishes, her work is at once both beautiful and bold.

For the window Exhibition at SCP, various works will be on display, including four smaller-scale objects and four larger-scale unique sculptures, alongside two editions of casted elements to be sold individually.

'Some of the pieces have extruded cement on them, with pigmented cement. Some pieces have an ink texture put on them after the cast. The palette is quite neutral, with some punchier colours too, like a terracotta or a green. They are all one-off pieces made for SCP.’ - Vic Wright
